LAVA TO QUAKE CHINESE VENDORS IN THEIR OWN GAME

Do you remember Lava? Yes Yes, the one who was one of the biggest competitors to Micromax back in the day. And now the company is back with its whole new first ever homegrown 5G smartphone called the Lava Agni.

Lava, the Indian homegrown brand launched a new 5G smartphone named Lava Agni. This smartphone features a 6.58 inch Full HD+ 1080×2460 holepunch display with a 91.7% screen to body ratio. The best part about the display is that it has a smooth 90hz refresh rate screen which makes it stand out from the rest. On top of that it has a Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection.

Lava Agni also features a Quad camera set-up. Which is a 64MP primary lens, supported by 5MP wide angle lens, 2MP depth camera and a 2MP macro lens with a dual LED flash.

The Agni comes with a Mediatek Dimensity 810 SoC, which is based on a 6nm (nanometer) processor, clocked at 2.4GHz which indeed supports 5G. Equipped with 8gb of ram and 128gb of internal storage which is quite a lot for users.

Coming to the battery, Agni comes with a 5000mah battery accompanied by a 30W fast charger. Well, if you think that's all then wait it also has a side mounted fingerprint scanner and a face recognition unlocking system.

Last but not the least, the pricing. Lava Agni is priced at Rs19,999/- but it can be availed for Rs17,999/- with an introductory offer.

In my personal opinion lava, with the launch of this device is set to stand against the Chinese smartphone giants such as Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo and Vivo. Who have already established their game in this budget smartphone segment. So, it'll be very tough for Lava to create a footprint in this segment.

As consumers now have far too many options at this price point from the likes of the Chinese giants or non chinese vendors such as Realme's Realme 8s 5G which comes with the same processor, same display but less ram at Rs18,000 or a Motorola Moto G60, which comes with a 6.78 inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display, triple camera system and a Snapdragon 732G processor with a 6GB of ram. But the best part is it'll get monthly security updates and has a close to stock Android system which is very hard to find in this price bracket.

But in general, Chinese vendors give more for less which lures Indian consumers by giving them value for their money but at the hidden  inherently cost of cranky irritating ads. So, if lava manages to pull off this smartphone without loading such annoying ads inside the UI then they can literally change the game and can make a disruptive strong comeback in the market.
