OnePlus you need to go back to your roots !

If you remember the time when OnePlus released their first ever device the "flagship killer" OnePlus One, it disrupted the mobile industry by selling so many units where it became so hard for them to keep up with the demand and with their unique hard to get invite only purchase system and bang for buck of 21,000 Rs or 299$ accompanied with CyanogenMod and flagship specs and that Oh so sandstone back cover. OnePlus has walked a long way since then, from releasing 1 phone a year to releasing 2 phones a year, which is their famous T line up, to going up to releasing with their Pro line up. The brand has expanded their range,So when you expand you lose the focus and that's obvious and it somewhat disturbs your fans because when you keep releasing so many devices you lose your focus on your previous gen devices by giving fewer updates or not paying attention on their software bugs. Though OnePlus is still managing to update their phones as quickly as possible, but as there's a saying "With great powers, comes a great responsibility". OnePlus doesn't just sell phones anymore but also TVs with newly added fitness band to their line up and the upcoming highly buzzed "OnePlus Watch". OnePlus isn't just catering to the enthusiast but now they trying to be a mass brand, like they aren't just focusing on one type of people but they going big, just like other tech companies like Samsung or Apple which is fair, but not so fair in the eye of that particular enthusiastic group who was originally the fan of the older OnePlus brand ideology where they released 1-2 phones a year rather than releasing 4 phones or more a year, who used to love the original idea of flagship killers with lesser price and more value, but every year they're raising the price with every new iteration of devices they started from selling OnePlus One from 21,000 or 299$ they now sell OnePlus 8 Pro for 899$ or 60,000Rs.

The prices are going off the roof lately, and hence to balance it out they launched a new line up called "NORD"  where the company is releasing mid range or budget segment devices with not so high-end specs but trying to give a flagship well optimised products with good software experience, but is that what we need? Well it depends upon the consumer, because the enthusiasts aren't that happy about it, because the specs are average, the cameras are below average and not flagship, but that's what brings you for that price, unlike OnePlus One which got you flagship specs and not a flagship price. If you see OnePlus is delaying software updates on their previous generation devices, brands like Samsung has already updated their current and last year gen of devices whereas OnePlus is yet to update their last year 7&7T series of devices followed by 6&6T also Nord, they recently released Open Beta for the Nord but what about the 7&6 series? That's where Apple wins the competition by updating each and every device on the same day of releasing the update.
Both Oneplus 7 and 7 pro smartphones makes big news in smartphone industry because they both are packed with lots of unique features and in other side they both are less expensive as compared to many smartphones on the market with same specs and after releasing OnePlus 7 series OnePlus releases its “ T” version that is OnePlus 7T and this smartphone wasn't that different from the 7 pro. Consecutive launch of phones makes lack of innovation and that's what we saw in 7T the lack of innovation in the company for the 7T.

The company which we loved and known before isn't the same anymore, after the exit of the Co-founder Carl Pei the fans are upset and worried of what will be the future of the company. It looks like the brand has lost its charm. This year OnePlus will be releasing their much awaited 9 series of devices the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro which is rumoured to release early this year powered by 120hz display and Snapdragon 888.

If the price is right at the point, and device hits the bullseye with the cameras then the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro can really do wonders and might bring OnePlus back in the game, as previously launched OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro failed to do it.
