What is a VPN? And why you should use it?

VPN:-  As more and more people are joining the world of internet, the chances of getting hacked or spoofed is also increasing. With the constant talk of privacy-breaches, hacks and other security related tech issues are gaining headlines, VPN's would be very useful for many people in this case.

So, What is a VPN?
The full form of VPN is "Virtual Private Network". It's a way of connecting your devices to the internet through your normal data pack or broadband connection, while adding an extra layer of Privacy & Security to everything you do online. VPN's are usually used by businesses and industries to connect to intranet when working remotely. But with more people sharing private data over online services/Internet than ever before, there's an argument that everyone might want to at least consider using a VPN for personal usage.

So,What does a VPN Do?
A VPN "VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK" can be used in many different situations, to encrypt and reroute any traffic directed over it's network. Once you get connected to a VPN, all your true IP address, network location and other session details get encrypted by a VPN. Even if captured, that data is unreadable to any attacker, while the traces of your online presence are redirected away from your true IP address. A VPN is always recommended when using a public hotspot eg. Using a WiFi in the cafe or using a public WiFi in Railway station. VPN can also be used to get apps or watch videos which are not available in your country, for example Spotify is not officially available in India but with the help of VPN we can make that service available and can use it freely. Apart from Spotify, When we want to see that episode of our favourite Turkish serial but you get prompted with a message "This video is blocked in your country" that time VPN gets in handy.

How to choose a VPN Provider?
There are many providers that provide VPN, But choosing a  VPN mainly depends on it's speed, security and features required. Paid VPN's often tends to provide more higher speeds, though it vary on the amount of traffic being routed via that network endpoint.
Although there are plenty of free VPN options available like "TunnelBear, Hola Free VPN Proxy or Opera Free VPN"  but performance is more considerably hit and miss and your options more limited.
